main server is down

Post by adminless »

btw just reporting here that the main server is down for some still yet unknown reason. I'm investigating more, in any case, secondary server keeps running as usual so it should be no major problem beside with the new web server I could even host the game servers there if needed as temporal solution (as a matter of fact this web server was supposed to replace the secondary web server but I guess that given the case I'll keep it by now). once I have more info I'll let you know.

already escalated for data center check up, initially I'd suspect a power issue so we'll see. good news are that even in worst case scenery the web server is up and ready to act as a secondary server if needed to be in the coming days in case of a prolong downtime.

apparently server back online just as I had finished deploying the temp servers. anyway, I did not receive answer yet from the data center but from what I have checked so far I think the power loss or perhaps a inventory rotation can be confirmed so I'll keep monitoring this and if anything I'll update this.

I just completed a quick check up/diagnosis now for the main server and indeed everything was in order, no problems were observed, so I assume that for other than the down time everything should be fine now. the only issue that remains is bad Microsoft master server visibility following the down time as already commented. unfortunately the original master server restored the visibility fairly quickly, typically in 1-2 days, and was a lot more flexible but this Microsoft one takes more like 1-2 weeks of uptime to stabilize the visibility. as said, it's what it's, I put together the packages for a reason. in any case, as commented at least the secondary server has not been impacted in any way and as a bonus I even deployed a new spare private ranked server in this web server already as I had planned so it shouldn't even be a major deal st the end of day and everything should continue to run as usual.
