Pmove fixed or accurate?

Post by noluck »

I need some help.
here are these settings:
pmove_fixed 0/1
pmove_accurate 0/1/ ...125
pmove_msec (integer, eg 8)
Now: I know what are these cvars do, but:
From the old days I remember (I guess) that if pmove_fixed 1 is used then pmove_accurate must be 0? I am doubtful so I will appreciate much if someone explain it.
Have a good luck

If I don't recall wrong those are (normally) server side settings to compensate for different frame rates and frame drops while playing. Generally speaking they just mess up the game so it's better to leave those alone. Pmove_accurate as far as I recall I think it's a custom mod setting so It might not even be funcional at all outside such mod.

Thank you for your reply. These settings / cvars are from OSP I think, and the internet doesnt show so much help in this regard, so I conclude that your opinion is the best so far to leave these untouched. I am even goiing to delet these from q3config and from my startup cfgs.

PS. Do you remember Funderal (or a name like this ) whose website is no longer available, he had a page namely quake 3 fps guide (or so) I used to read that page often a decade ago. That site had a lot of pmov-things . I even downloaded on my pentium4 those days, things became trash and her ai am on Core i5 8th, every vintage thing has been lost, and we get aged.

Thanks you so much
AND I apologize for late reading and late answering.
