shit that happens otherwise each time a team goes losing they would just quit to get the match restarted, unlucky. unfortunately equipment and settings are also a part of the competition.

but why you didnt pause the game. teams are not recognizing if their mate gets out cause of pc shutdown whatever and you are there to ref it. so why just call pause and ask whats going on.

hey I investigated and let them know about it and allowed for a change to team up asap. I don't think it was a decisive event (community probably won that map clearly anyways) and as I'm telling you, I believe that it's something that only happened other time to ouunp so it's what it's, shit that happens. I don't think that there's a need to make a huge deal of it.

ok, scores/stats updated now with the results of the first fight of the week that played out with a 1:3 away victory in favor of team community on a overall solid improvement over the previous time they had met and after they had gone neck to neck with current reigning defending champions the previous week. unfortunately it was not ilm night and overall I got the feeling they struggled with the previous unexpected defeat still running on the back of their heads and that they lost some of the team play required to top this instead focusing more on individual play which probably hurt them this night. probably in a positive note now they finally finished the job on a 9-9 leading game to take home at least one map that I'm sure it will motivate them on their crucial encounter with wtf next week. on the other hand solid showing by team community that really looked tuned and upgraded from the previous season where they ended up runner-ups nonetheless. a very statistical significant win that position them as a solid candidate to make it to the final phase if they continue on this track. ggs guys.

@kf btw dude as you jump this please let me know when you can if your team can do the next Thursday 24 21:15 CET (UTC+01) against ilm. they said they are in for that date and that likely they can't do anything else next week then please try and let me know.

I agree, disabled timeout is a huge omission.
Two of our players had connection issues during the last match. Without pause we had to play 3 vs 5 for a significant time each map and could easily lose because of it.

I think having limited number of timeouts per match might be good compromise. It is not good to call timeout just becouse someone got lag attack, but in case someones pc crushes i think timeout can only help to the competitive format of the game.

@magi great news, thanks for that, over confirmed me yesterday such date then that means that your oko-over fight will happen next Tuesday 22 21:00 CET. when you know about what maps you wanna play for this fight please let me know not later than this Saturday 19 21:00 CET.

@rest well the same way aimer laptop melted down struggling to even deliver 30 fps during the second, semi lagged beyond belief on the fourth and mwhq3 suffered incalculable lag spikes across the whole night of the Thursday 13 of May of 2021 that probably easily cost the same yesterday community guys the 2021 semi final here against coincidentally the very same ilm clan of yesterday. what I'm trying to tell you with that is that technical issues are unfortunately a factor in the game and that there will be times when they will benefit you as there will be times where they will also hurt you, it's just the way it's, and getting the game paused every time some weird colors show up on the lag-o-meter of somebody on the other corner of the map doesn't even look like a solution to me. I probably agree for the game to be restarted if some major technical incident affects the game but only limited to very specific circumstances and to the very early rounds of it (between 0 and 3 score and under 2-3 minutes approx) not in the middle just like that.

the effect of your mindset gets fucked up as a player when you cant timeout while some of your mates having problems or yourself. even if you`d lose before its just unfair, cause u will play shitty for the rest of the evening. i think when orgi left accidently, it was even game. like it was scored like 3-3, but i dont remember right cause i was so pissed to watch that.
if you are a REFEREE you should use (if possible) to just pause the game when something wents wrong. game in soccer games also gets stopped if players have "technical" issues which means physical there. ref does stop the game untill they are gone. problem solved.

*edit
and even to just switch the players will kill the menthality. the player who subs is not menthally warmed and the player which got subbed will be mad too or lets say "shamed" because no one likes to waste others times. and also to switch maka in and orgi out is a big change for the gameplay. (i know that they will not take it that serious because they are nice realistic players) orgi clearly does more dmg and that was missed and thats why dm7 turned that way.... (NO FRONT MAKA! :D)

btw as you keep dueling on this I reviewed again the incident and I can establish the following timeline of events for you. the Wednesday 16 of November of 2022 at 21:17:27 CET (UTC+01) starts the first game of a 5vs5 fight between ilm and community. the game develops normally without incidents until around 10 minutes and 38 seconds in when suddenly ilm player orgi cleanly disconnects from the game in the middle of a 2(3):3(1) favorable score to community. I proceed to check the server/connections for technical issues and no reason for the disconnection can be established on my end. the round continues to develop until community ends up turning it around 43 seconds later scoring 2:4. by that time, 11 minutes and 21 seconds of game in, a restart clearly does not apply, so a replacement is called in (maka) and people pretty much just wait him up until he successfully joins the game around 41 seconds later when the action once again resumes. the game went on to continue developing normally without incidents for another 11 minutes and 23 seconds until it ends with a 5:10 victory for team community.

quite frankly even after review it now a second time I don't even see where the controversy is let alone that your mindset continues to be that fucked up almost a day after because of this. as I'm telling you a timeout command is not available but even if it were it does nothing in the event of a disconnection (it can't save the state of a disconnected player i.e. I'm about to get killed, disconnect, team mate call timeout, sorry router, timein, I join fresh. easy noobs!!). besides let's also make this clear, I'm not assuming any wrongdoing on the orgi end, I know he have played here hundred of games and he never did any shit, that being said the reality is there's really no way to establish whether someone computer shut down or someone just rage quitted which would then open the door to all shorts of exploits as I'm telling you. I just can't take things like that. that's why you're on your own on this, I can't help you with that like this. as I said, sure if someone connection crashes on the early rounds of a game I guess I can then restart it once if somebody request it but not just like this in the middle of a game. that's probably the best I can do.

if you just would have said that you arent able to pause the game, we would never discuss about it. i remember that it was a 4 vs1 situation at that round (ribx was last survivor) and suddenly the players of community were unfrozen - they were red and it turned like 2-4 if you say so. i remember that i was surprised and i did not notice also that orgi was out untill cliff told it at gtv.

what i can tell you is that players dont abuse such things like you talk about - sure you get the worst case scenario as an organizing admin which is also good. we played against many teams in our active time - there were teams which we dont liked - some were asses like you told in that scenario. but we also were wasting our timeouts when we noticed that one player of our enemys got lagged out or stands - whatever. cause this means fair play. you dont abuse timeouts cause everyone has to wait.

@kf as I'm telling you timeouts are total bullshit. I think the only point were it would have applied one to be available was after the round finished at 11:21 to wait up for maka to team up as replacement but even then it wasn't even really necessary as people ceremoniously wait him up on their own anyways. in the middle of the (2:3) round when he disconnected would have no applied as that would have benefit the disconnecting player (ex. it wasn't the case but you can disconnect while frozen as well for another example) and would hurt the other team which is obviously wrong. the bottom line is we arguing about 43 seconds that a team played 4vs5 due a technical issue that decided a round out of 71 in a almost hour long fight. I don't even really see where the case is for there.

@fau awesome thanks for that then I think only wtf is left to confirm for the next week fights (Thursday night 21:15 CET on their case against ilm). great ok then I think that people can start providing maps once they know.

btw more important than all the controversy that I know that people have been looking this up and asking me about this is that just as documented on the site people not using the provided mod and instead using something else can as well get the teamoverlay working on the UnFreeZe servers with the following console commands or just by execing the attached cfg once in-game.

Code: Select all

\setu teamoverlay2 ""
\cg_drawteamoverlay 1
\teamoverlay2 1
