Sunday 17 looks good to me for that, the finals don't depend on it so there's no "rush" for it (all the same for the potential second leg of it if it happens). fantastic then noted for the Sunday for far at the wait of hearing from immortal, thank you.

ok the match up between the current first place and the sixth place has just finished with the foresable outcome of a 3:0 win for ILM in a one sided fight that although still not decisive pretty much unless some major upset makes them virtually first place of the regular phase. in the other hand, once again big shoutout for immortal that once again kept the spirits high across all the games and even displayed some great plays at times despite the apparent team strength gap, well played guys. in that sense, unfortunately I believe that after like half the original team that lead them no other than to the championship and later on to the undisputed status last year pretty much withdraw from the team their goal this season basically came across just about enjoy the game and complete and honor the tournament in full so I believe that now just at the wait of one more game now for the fifth they have finally accomplished just that so congrats guys, well done, that's way to go. in the individual side I think it was unfortunate last undisputed event mvp winner olc absence as just by spawning a few times in the game and enter some input in the keyboard/mouse it would have straight up earned him the symbolic honor of being rewarded with a medal of honor badge for his tremendous performance and courage. I think it's specially unfortunate as it was specially against this opponent in particular here where he just couldn't stop complaining about the lack of challenge and started to speak instead of feats of soloing the entire team by himself so quite frankly it now just came across as huge missed opportunity to really make a statement and history for the books for olc or at least to have a small taste at the more challenging competition he so much claimed to long during the whole last year, unlucky.

everything up and done since this morning for the yesterday game, ggs. looking back at it I think that in the upside immortal at least lasted half a hour and this time didn't concede any historic record either despite going against the currently rated number one team (either active or inactive) in the record and forming probably with their weakest line-up, not bad. ok, finally with that the scoreboard and schedule now catches up from the Ozaru withdraw and then everything looks set to dispute the definitive round of games that will close the regular phase and will decide the final positions so far. good stuff, I believe that this round of matches now finally looks pretty much like some small anticipated finals to be honest, matter of fact, the immortal/community encounter is indeed a direct match up for the fifth place of the regular phase. no bullshit there, the previous record become meaningless, whatever wins that will take the fifth place of the regular phase just at the wait of a potential rematch in a second leg to settle the score given there's interest/availability in that of course (not mandatory). the tomorrow game is also another final for the fourth place in the regular phase already and last but not least, after updating and reviewing everything, it turns out that the last oKo/ILM game next week not only seems poised to be decisive for the first place of the regular phase that it will be, in fact, as well at play the historic record for the highest team recorded rating currently standing at 1825.03 points. it appears like if ILM can overcome the record holders of the record themselves next week, oKo, they will surpass such rating to reach new heights in this competition so I believe that the excitement and anticipation for the closing games should be maximum.

for the rest remember, the tomorrow night game between dt and ass is all set so now just waiting to hear mostly from oko and ilm when they can play next week within this weekend to leave that scheduled. the current default noted date for that is the Thursday 14 of November of 2024 21:15 CET (UTC+01) so let me know. as for the fifth place, waiting as well input from immortal about community offer to play next Sunday 17 night so again let me know about that.

btw that some people asked me about today, I believe that it's already well known but just to be safe I remind people here that no team changes (i.e. adding/removing players) will be allowed for the entire duration of the tournament which obviously includes the finals. I don't think any special and/or any other circumstances that would allow/call for such changes have occurred and from what I have seen so far this has just worked perfectly with all the teams fully assembled therefore those registered at the start of the tournament as stated in this thread and registered in the teams and clans thread are the ones that must finish it and no one else will be allowed to participate instead (to be clear line up a unregistered player in any game will immediately lead to such outcome getting overturned and repetitive offence might even lead to disqualification or even banning of any part involved). if someone outside of that would be interested in participate I'd said to probably sign up for some undercard/guest game in what follows. I'd said for some guest game this week but assuming that by the weekend nobody has joined for that so nothing has been tried to be organized with either dt or ass that rest this week I think it's obvious that no such games will happen at least this week. in what follows I believe the best option for that if someone wants to participate is once the regular phase ends to get in touch with immortal for example in case they are interested in getting some reinforcements for a potential second leg to settle the fifth place against community which would be then a follow-up/spin-off off tournament undercard game or simply just wait to team up for another edition of course. I assume that given the success of this edition, in the winter I'll try to organize some different mode small cup (i.e. ffa/ctf) and then by the spring or so I might open another tournament here if nothing changes so stay tuned as usual.

other than that now that the players topic has been brought additionally note that yesterday a major honor took place, even despite all the hardships former notorious over player srl finally joined the tournament for immortal thus that makes now denzo the only active (I remind iron/rotten both were properly reported afk and unable to be replaced at the start of this) player that still hasn't played a single in-record game as required. in light of that, that now he is the only one, I believe that I'll elevate the previous notice in this thread into a warning instead and in case he doesn't show up in a single game in what's left of the tournament for ass then he will be removed from ass accordingly.

ok, finally on the topic rulesets revision as usual with any major event I believe that despite the countless pages of drama now that I believe that it has been played properly I think that it can finally be said that all the changes that were added across the years did really added up to the game and have made it a lot more exciting and competitive from what I see. in that aspect I believe that now the only room for improvement I see there is for those slow draw out maps so after thinking about it carefully (virtually for years trust me) I believe that then I'm going to add some sort of "round time limit" to the competitive rulesets. as said, after thinking carefully and coming across various crazy ideas (you can take my word on that) I believe the best compromise solution, as usual just a small improvement, without being overly aggressive/invasive, and following the last implemented changes here is just to cut the thaw limit that now regularly stands at two thaws per round per player max just into one after the default round time ends. as said, this should not be any dramatic change from the way it currently it's and hopefully it should serve to encourage more engagement in this maps. basically this just should have the effect of having all the small fast paced maps played as usual UnFreeZe and the more slow draw out maps more similar to clan arena that it's even better suited than UnFreeZe for those kind of maps. after various calculations I finally established this round time limit at 2.5 mins and it should serve exactly for that purpose as well as for example (meaningful) deny people just waiting out for the self thaw among other things probably. the changes are already implemented on both servers as we speak so they should be effective starting this week. as usual in the future (not any time soon) I might play a little bit more with this kind of round overtime depending in the actual results but so far I prefer to refrain from any radical/hardcore changes. needless to say but just to be safe nothing else will be changed as it just looks as good as it gets.

Sorry dude you confused my slow brain

What's this in basic? Your talking about normal server games, automatic thaw time 2.5mins?

2 thaws per round? Per person?

those rulesets apply only for the competitive ranked servers, not for the pubs. yes, in the competitive rulesets you can not die more than twice in a round already (i.e. or being thawed twice in a round), the third time you die you're eliminated instead as opposed to frozen. the change introduces some sort of round time limit currently standing at two and a half minutes after which the death limit per round lowers to just one instead (i.e. after this you now can only be thawed once per round after two and a half minutes of round time) which means that then now a second death after two and a half minutes of round time eliminates you. as a practical example that now for example limits the strategy of just do nothing but waiting for the self thaw time to thaw your mates to only one time (instead of two) and hopefully it should make the game more exciting and promote engagement overall. as said, just a minor non dramatic change so far.

So depending on team skill level you could potentially be playing 5v1 in a round at some point as no one to thaw?

well, not really if you do something (normally) about it, if you let it run like "forever" then sure it might come a point where it comes to that. as posted recently at other thread, quite frankly if a round gets to 5vs1 or something like that then that round is done for and drag it like "forever" doesn't seem like a meaningful strategy/valid option to me. beside things go both way, 5vs1 might be impossible but not as impossible as 15vs1 so even in those drawn out circumstances you would fare a better chance than even if on top of the disadvantage the opponent could as well thaw themselves out and thus you would have to kill then three (or even more) times each. whatever the case is, as said, the rounds just can not go like forever so something needs to be done to bring the game to a close at some point, there's no way around it.

Hi admin, I don't think putting a cap on how many times you can be thawed in a round isn't a good idea IMO because that will incentivize players to play extra safe and camp more.
As for the time limit per round that sounds like a great idea, maybe do a vote on how long it should be, i think 3 minutes might be the solution

@fusion as I just explained before such cap (2) already exists so it is nothing new being added now. it was added I think like a year or more ago once it became clear it favoured way too much defensive play and it has been proven to be working just fine since (proof to that statement is that apparently you for example have been playing like that for over a year already without even noticing/knowing it seems). don't worry that as I just wrote that's just a minor change to for example undermine people doing pretty much nothing but just waiting out for the self thaw time to free their mates which has been clearly exposed already in this edition. if it's now proven to be terrible, or just counter producent as you're putting it, don't worry that I have many other options for that. well at least it looks like we do agree that when played at this level the round time must be limited in some way for the game to produce and that's a good idea.

I dunno , I don't see the benefit of any of it in these formats

Seems a simple time limit with the old quake tie breaker point if it drags on

Of course Ami might like 5vs1 for a little while 😂

yeah dude that was totally brain fucked more than two hours in total, heat. yes I believe that the change discussion should be settled now, I really didn't want to go that far for this edition as I said but it's evident that there's no other way around it so I had to level that up. I was already expecting something like this at this stage, very necessary changes, so hopefully for the next game I'll code that some better that I did not even have time to test it.
