@porsche I think you have probably not played in virtually any event here so I don't think it's necessary for you to play in this one. don't worry that we're 13 so far with several backups so whether the player 14 finally shows up or not (which I guess he will from what I see so far) I assume that at least something should be played the Sunday night anyway as I said.

Alright, Miroslav told me to confirm that I'm going to play.
If someone wants to join badly, you can throw me out of the list.
It's not clear to me which day have you chosen (the title still says "FFA"). I'm free between 19-00 UTC and 23-00 UTC almost every day.

Hi mate !

If you want you can play , voting shows a majority. There is still time to emerge. I'll give you my non-existent seat if you really want it :>

hey no need to throw anybody if slash confirm then with him we're finally 14 confirmed (to some extend) plus various backups. that means that now we should be enough to make the game happen as originally intended/planned so I'll start computing the teams now and if not this night, tomorrow I'll send the corresponding card to everyone involved here so stay tuned.

ok, done now, everyone involved please check your forum PM's and if anything (ex. you haven't received it or something) just let me know you correct it/update it. there's still one day left of voting but I think that by now it's clear that it's decided for the Sunday night as best option. the only real alternative was the Tuesday that as I noted unfortunately it didn't make it in time. as usual just to be safe here it's the public card for the event for reference:
  • event: ctf community game
  • date: Sunday 25 of August of 2024 21:00 CEST (UTC+02)
  • server: fpsclasico.eu:27965 or fpsclasico.de:27965
  • maps: dboxctf2a , crewctf , q3wctf2 , japanctf , q3ctf2
  • format: five classic 7vs7 ctf games scored at 7 captures or 20 minutes
  • target: 12-14 players
  • teams:
    • red: miro, lisa, iron, masin, fusion, squid, rexzie
    • blue: tuby, aimer, version, redrum, kf, walnut, slash
    • backups: pacman, lith, agi, inifinity
  • notes: in case of a protracted overtime (i.e. more than five minutes) I'll start manually removing the lowest scores from each team every two minutes (approx) until the game concludes.
as noted in the PM with more detail those involved please make sure to have at least those maps installed before the start of the event to avoid missing/delaying game and make sure to do show and stay engaged for the whole duration of the event even if you happen to miss some games. provided everyone shows, everyone will have a spot at some point. it's the way it's and please respect the teams along with your teammates regardless of what team you're in and honour the game in full.

nothing else I guess so just have fun, good luck and see you everyone the Sunday night in-game as established.

just like that, the first group is from the ctf ranking, the second group is form the UnFreeZe competitive ranking and the last is from the pub stats. then you just add all the individual group sorts.

btw just as reminder to those involved please do not forget that in about two hours will be played the ctf game at the ctf server (fpsclasico.eu:27965 or fpsclasico.de:27965) as established in the PM so make sure to show up (backup players or not) and to have installed at least all the maps (dboxctf2a , crewctf , q3wctf2 , japanctf , q3ctf2) that are going to be played beforehand, thanks.

ok the ctf event just ended now, terrific games, thanks everyone for participate and honouring it in full, well done. as usual, stats and videos being produced now so stay tuned for that tomorrow (I think these will take some time as they were huge, like close to two hours). overall a great event, I think that after some time it finally got some proper ctf played, a lot more competitive and overall balanced than anticipated.

Thanks for the organisation, it was a good game, unfortunately I don't play much so I was a bit tired by the end ( I played before at least to get to know the pairs at a basic level. ) I hope to play in the next ffa / unf games, I never played CTF before in quake3 ( I did in quake2 ). Thanks to the team and congrats to the opponents, there was no rest in the game.

Hope you can fit this little fun moment video, I recorded it last night:>

hehe ggs yes I also look forward organising more of these ffa/ctf events from time to time. it took a while for them to build up but they finally happened all the same during the summer exactly as planned (just in August instead of July) and I think it was refreshing to play something else beside UnFreeZe. the ffa one was top notch and as you said for something that never really gets played here the ctf one was also quite good specially the second and third games that were nose bleeding. I think next I'll just leave the UnFreeZe community game as warm up for a new potential season once all the people arrive from holidays now at the usual "proper" forum/thread in the coming month/s (mid/later September). after that I think that probably at some point during the next holidays or so (Christmas/Winter) another round of these other than UnFreeZe events can be organised as well so stay tuned. as for the videos, they are currently 3/5 done so they will still take some 7 more hours approx, expect them on their way to YouTube/posted by the evening then. the game stats are all up since the event ended at the ctf organised ranking (ctf.fpsclassico.com) in case someone gonna go looking those up in the meantime.
