ok guys the semis are finally done, as expected Miroslav took his chances this night to get a spot on the grand final against top contender fau, no surprises, arguably the two best players will meet again on a already classic super final. about this night fight probably not much to comment as despite noobzordofzords best efforts he was mostly outplayed by a terrific Miroslav that definitively looked in shape to retain his undisputed tittle at least so far. I think that probably the only thing to comment was the third map order change that although a clear violation of the approved procedure and something that shouldn't be allowed in light of the major difference and in favor of just a more friendly and enjoyable experience I exceptionally allowed it since it looked almost certain that it wasn't going to change anything anyways. my feelings are that probably picking hub3aeroq3 against a super specialist on such map (traditionally miro home maps are unquestionable, "the hubs") was a terrible blunder that
hopefully he realized it almost in time to react. as said it shouldn't happen but I guess that probably loading aero to record another clean game wouldn't probably add anything positive to the game. although still a very clear win for miro pukka at least brought four very hard earned and deserved frags for noobzordofzords to end the night on a very respectful note so big shout out to him for honoring the competition in full and giving your best. people shouldn't forget that to lose hard a semifinal first you need to reach it and that to be able reach it first you need to sign up as well. people improve by facing stronger opponents not by "winning easy" and shying away from challenges, in the long run the former ones are the ones that will prevail, so huge respect.
good, then I guess it's time to move to the closing week of the tournament, without further redo here are the macthups:
The Finals
- Grand Final
- Miroslav vs fau (Wednesday 11 of May of 2022 21:00 CEST [UTC+02])
undercards
- third place final (Tuesday 10 of May of 2022 21:15 CEST [UTC+02])
as said both sn1 and noobzordofzords are invited and strongly encouraged to dispute the third place of the tournament as well as the tittle of the best fpsclassico master newcomer of 2022 on a third place final. of course, as with previous undercards is not mandatory so please let me know within the next days if you're interested in making it happen. I initially scheduled it for the next Tuesday night 21:15 (normal best of five) although as usual any other date within that week (that doesn't coincide with the final obviously) can be done. in case it doesn't happen the third place will go for sn1 as both lost 3:0 but sn1 did so at a higher score ratio of 1:1.4 against noobzordofzords ratio of 1:18.75. although it's also to note that probably in this case the most fair should be a direct fight and decide that in-game so think about it.
now let's move to the good stuff, the grand final that will decide who is the champion of fpsclassico masters 2022 as well as if miro come out still undefeated and hence undisputed here or if fau will become new lineal champion instead (as he hasn't lost to anybody else he will retain the regular champion tittle anyways). first things first as mentioned earlier I think the most appropriate and exciting for the final is to dispute it a best of seven played on b-a-a-b-b-a-c order instead, I assume you both agree to that. as said as I only announced five tie-breakers I announce now the tie-breaks pool for the final (in order) since the third place final is not guaranteed to happen or it could even not happen in order. basically this is the current output of the database tie-breakers function for the masters server:

basically as can be seen there then the tie-breakers for the final are pro-q3dm6, ztn3tourney1, hub3aeroq3, hub3tourney1, pro-q3tourney4, pukka3tourney2 and hektik_b3. no surprises I guess that is probably about what everyone expected. additionally as there seems to be some controversy with the connectivity/latency and so I also announce now that in favor of a more fair game and to avoid any disagreements and that the champion really gets recognized as such, the better player, not just some random lucky guy who's only skill happened to be at the right spot to be given away a rigged tournament, the grand final will be disputed with connectivity latency compensation. since osp is not a unlagged mod and as obviously I can't reduce (by normal means) the latency of a external connection I have no ways to negatively compensate for latency (i.e. delag) here besides also as stated unlagged mods change behavior beyond just the latency so that's probably not even what we
might want (arguably). that being said what I can sure do because it takes place right at the server is to introduce latency to compensate the difference between the two players so for the grand final the latency of the lower pinger will be adjusted to that of the higher pinger. in this case, the values I have measured so far are 16.63 msec and 28.28 msec of average latency for miro and fau respectively which basically means that I'll just introduce 11.65 msec of artificial flat lag (i.e. delay) to the miro connection at the date of the fight. in any case rest assured that the in-game ping values will be verified to match at the start of the match anyways despite any previous calculations in a effort that both compete on equal foot. failure to follow the procedure and/or disagreeing with it on miro's end will ends the undisputed status and will automatically make fau lineal.
and that should be it I guess, so think your picks wisely as they can be decisive and all that is left is just the date. initially I had schedule it for the 15 as usual just to be safe in case there's delays as well as expecting various undercards and so but as it hasn't been the case and we're even beyond schedule I think that probably right the next Wednesday night can be a good date, just let me know. finally the time was adjusted for 21:00 CEST (UTC+02) to better accommodate the best of seven play which could take some longer.
