great if team community can do that date as well then all that would be left to set about that fight would be the maps. despite the numerous reminders I still haven't heard a word about what over wants to play the Thursday against ILM so if after this night opening fight they still haven't I guess I'll just announce them myself along the blacklist for it afterwards here. btw just to make it clear/simple since some people seem to be having a hard time with the maps just to make it clear the procedure should go like team a chose 3 maps (typically 3 days before the fight), team b chose other three different maps and blacklist one of the team a choices and tie-breakers right away (since at moment the tie-breakers are known, typically 2 days before the fight) and then finally team a blacklist one of the b choices and chose between the two remaining tie-breakers maps (typically 1 day before the fight). ultimately the fight card is PM'ed here at the forum with all the relevant stuff/info as usual. I'd really request all the teams to adhere and follow that procedure as much as possible for the better development of the competition and the better good of everyone involved or basically I just will myself.

for the rest just as a reminder for those around that might be new and not know, this evening 19:30 CET (UTC+01) is the opening game between former undisputed champions team pride and previous edition returning reinforced sixth place ass clan in a tremendous best of five battle to get started the season. the game can be watch live just from any Quake III Arena installation that has all the maps that are gonna be played installed (6++, reqdm5, 7++, pro-q3tourney2 and pro-q3dm13) by connecting at the dedicated gamers tv spectator server with addresses fpsclasico.de:27972 (45.89.125.45:27972) or fpsclasico.eu:27972 (5.230.222.7:27972). catch you there guys and as always please have fun.

ok finally I got back over choices for the Thursday fight against ilm, 6++, q3dm14, pro-nodm9, and the blacklists, hub3tourney1 for ilm and q3dm8 for the tie-breakers. awesome then all that is left to leave that finally all set is now to hear what ilm want to skip from that (6++, q3dm14, pro-nodm9) and what tie-breaker they prefer (pro-q3tourney2 or pro-q3tourney7). good news (and first tie-breakers fight of the competition btw).

ok, the opening game is done with a stellar showing from pride that took all three starting maps in a row to claim a flawless victory. may be on the individual not so much but clearly a bit step up from these guys on the collective/teamwork side that moved from being a team of mostly angry campers to become one of the most offensive/aggressive teams at the moment. on the other hand solid showing for ass that nevertheless stood its ground against arguably the eternal favorite of these tournaments and it overall kept it competitive most of the time with a strong second game that was probably the key moment of the fight. none of the teams did really played defense and that clearly showed in the intensity and pace of the game, definitively fun to watch. ggs and very well played both. as usual stats/videos being produced/uploaded now so those around that unfortunately missed the fun stay tune for more.

btw by today I should know what ilm finally wants to skip from over choices (6++, q3dm14, pro-nodm9) and whether they prefer pro-q3tourney2 or pro-q3tourney7 as the tie-breaker to leave that set for tomorrow night. additionally by the weekend the schedules for the next week planned (ASS-ILM Wednesday 21:15) and proposed fights (Over30-Pride Thursday 20:00) should be known as well and in case community confirms the Tuesday date against oKo their picks for it.

For our game against oko we select pro-nodm9, phantq3dm1_rev, pro-q3tourney7.
we blacklist overkill
from tie breaker list we don't blacklist anything (I understand dm6 won't be played because there is bloodcovenant already, and overkill is blacklisted).

We leave dm7 and hub (as first two in the queue) for Oko to select

great thanks about that noted now. ok, then once oKo decide what to skip from your choices as well (pro-nodm9, phantq3dm1_rev, pro-q3tourney7) and what tie-breaker they prefer (q3dm7 or hub3tourney1, yes, I assume that you just block pro-q3tourney2 by default as last option of the set) that should be set and I'll PM you here the fight card accordingly.

fantastic then it will be charon3dm9, pro-nodm9, bloodcovenant, phantq3dm1_rev and hub3tourney1. PM for that sent now to both of you (cthulhu and fau) so as usual review it and unless you spot some mistake or something then that should be it now. catch you in-game the next week, have fun and good luck to both of you.

awesome thanks about that then it will be q3dm7, q3dm14, overkill, pro-nodm9 and pro-q3tourney2 if I haven't missed anything. confirmed now on PM here on the forum to you both (ironmonkey and heero). have fun and good luck to both of you. catch you tomorrow in-game as well as any potential spectator of this exciting match up between the former 2021 lineal champion and a spin off of the reigning team of undisputed masters champions on the gtv. that's something that you definitively don't wanna miss, trust me.

for the rest, the first fight of the next week is already set, so as said it would be good to know whether ASS and ILM can go for the next round the next Wednesday 9 21:15 CET (UTC+01) and whether Over30 and Pride wanna do the same the next Thursday 10 20:00 CET (UTC+01) in the next coming or if not when they could (all of them) in the next week.

So far Thursday 10 20:00 CET seems good, let's stick to that date.
Our maps are the same: 6++, 7++, overkill.

good then I noted that date on the calendar and I'll ask over about it after this night fight. btw notice that this time you're the b (aka "away") team of the fight meaning that their choices will have preference over yours. just saying in case they chose some of those maps too (in any form) so you can go thinking (up to six maps) what else you would like to play from the pool. ok, I'll keep this updated as usual.

ok guys second fight of the league is done and ILM just followed the same steps as pride on the previous fight and dispatched of his opponent with clean sheets showing a form that reminded of the team that beat the team to became lineal on the 2021 grand final. quite frankly it came a bit of a surprise to me considering ILM didn't really look in top form and that in front they had a team of tremendous players that could easily upset anybody. overall the fight felt more like a small final than a regular season round, the level of intensity was off the charts. the first game was probably one of the best q3dm7 games I've ever remember around, things looked probably done in favor of ILM with a comfortable lead mid-game just for over to never cease to believe and finish probably just a few bullets away from completing a come back that would have been historic and it could have probably changed the final outcome. unfortunately (for them) it wasn't the case and with ILM now really aware of what was at stake pulled a near perfect game playing almost sbornaya level defense combined with oko level attack and coordination both notorious champs to settle the scores 2:0. in that light and considering over changes overkill felt more like a transition to get the job done and finish the night with a 3:0 ilm victory still a very notorious one full of great plays to enjoy. terrific games guys so congrats to ILM and a big shout to over as well that for a debut made a great impression against one of the most experienced teams and that I'm way sure that if they keep trying and the spirit high just by tuning a bit their play styles and map choices for this mode many great wins will await for them.

other than that clear up that on the UnFreeZe competitive ruleset to prevent abuse/exploit any form of suicide (lava, slime, vois etc) eliminates you from the round without possibility to respawn in any way, form or shape. however that does not apply to frozen bodies instead so throwing frozen bodies elsewhere where they can not (normally) be thawed does actually thaw them some time above the minute approx as it couldn't be other way (since then that would be the exploit/abuse in its own way).

good then the first week of the league finished with this, for the next one, oko-community is already set and it seems ilm would prefer the Friday nigh instead the initial Wednesday for their fight against ass so I noted that by now and please both of you when you know let me know to confirm that and proceed with the schedules. in the other hand pride confirmed already the next Thursday 20:00 CET (UTC+01) then still waiting from over for the same. both dates should be known by the weekend.
